The government has approved a budget of Rs.27.93 billion for the program that will be used over the next five years. Students from 129 public universities across Pakistan can apply for scholarships.
Students whose family income is less than Rs 25,000 can apply for the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen Scholarship.
The University Commission launched the program at the federal level, while the provinces were instructed to start the program.
The Punjab program has approved at least Rs 1 billion annually. While the budget for KPK has been set at 427 million rupees per year.
