The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to introduce two all-electric shuttle buses to ease inner-city transportation in Islamabad. The buses will assist passengers in commuting to the Green Line and Blue Line metro terminals.
Bus Route
Blue Line Service | PWD to PIMS |
Green Line Service | Bhara Kahu to PIMS |
Green Line service extends through Bhara Kahu (Jillani Stop) and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), while Blue Line service runs between PWD and PIMS. According to the information, construction works at bus stations on both routes are underway and will be completed in August. However, CDA intends to launch both bus services sooner.
Initially, the buses will operate on the main road, but CDA plans to build dedicated tracks for both services. CDA stressed that the two electric buses will ensure convenience for the public and promote environmental protection.
CDA awaits Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s approval for bus tickets. Also, PM Shehbaz will be offered a detailed presentation of the service ahead of the inauguration, which is expected to take place next week.
