The Punjab government has decided to close all public and private schools in the province from September 6-11. Schools in Punjab Close for 6 days till 11 September 2021. “All Punjab public and private schools will be closed from September 6th to September 11th, 2021 due to COVID-19 conditions. Please stay home and stay healthy. Protect yourself and your families, ”tweeted the Minister of Education of Murad Raas on Friday.

Punjab has reported the highest number of deaths in the country, according to the National Command and Operation Center. In the past 24 hours, 20 people have died of the deadly virus in the province.

Pakistan reported 3,787 new Covid-19 cases on Friday. The positivity rate is 6.33%. Last week the NCOC decided to keep the country’s educational institutions open three times a week with 50% participation.

Earlier in the day, the government announced that only vaccinated students would be allowed to take the Punjab Public Service Commission exams.

For students aged 17 and over, a full vaccination is compulsory by October 15th. New guidelines have been issued for vaccinating students.

  1. Immunocompromised individuals of 12 to 17 years will be administered the Pfizer vaccine
  2. Individuals will be required to produce medical documents as proof of being immunocompromised
  3. The general public age group for vaccination has been lowered to 17 years.
  4. Pfizer vaccine will be administered to students under the age of 18 years
  5. For people below the age of 18 years, the Child Registration Certificate (B- Form) number will be used for registration in NIMS (National Immunisation Management System)
  6. In the meantime, all teachers, non-teaching staff, and anyone involved in the transportation of students have been instructed to be fully vaccinated by September 30th.
