Thousands of teachers at the educational institutions of the Ministry of Education (SED) Punjab have applied for transfer and posting under the Ministry of Education’s e-transfer policy.

According to the information, over 28,500 teachers have applied for transfer and secondment to different cities. Out of 28,000, 16,000 are women teachers and the rest are teachers.

Last month, the former Punjab government announced that it would reopen the e-transfer portal for the relocation and posting of teachers employed by SED Punjab.

The portal reopened on March 31st and April 13th was the deadline for applications. The Education Department reviews the applications by April 23 and issues the transfer and secondment orders on April 25.

In 2020, former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar introduced a transparent and corruption-free transfer and secondment policy for school and college teachers.

In accordance with this policy, the provincial government had also launched a mobile e-transfer application, which also allows a user to track the progress of the application and receive the related order.
