Directorate of Education Baltistan (DOEB) is a recently established board of directors. DOEB has the responsibility to conduct annual exams in 5th and 8th grade in Gilgit Baltistan. All state schools in Gigit are affiliated with the DOEB for primary and middle class exams, while various private schools in Gilgit and related areas such as Skardu, Shigar, Kharmang, Rondu, and Ghanche are also affiliated with the Gilgit Board. Every year in February, DOEB takes the 5th and 8th grade exams according to a schedule. 5 class tests will be held earlier, followed by the 8th class exams in 2021.
After a few months of the annual exams of the 5th and 8th grade, the DOEB board announces the results of these exams for the students.
