LAHORE: All leading political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will all participate in the planned PP-206 Khanewal polls 16. December.
The seat vacated after the death of PML-N’s Nishat Khan Daha, who took his last breath on October 23.
In the 2018 parliamentary elections, Nishat Daha secured this seat with 51,353 votes, followed by Rana Mohammad Saleem, who took part in the PTI platform’s polls with 47,807 votes.
Mir Syed Wasiq Haider from PPP came third with 6,617 votes and Mohammad Amir Sohail from Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) came fourth with 5,764 votes. Interestingly, Daha’s wife Naureen disembarked from this polling contest and will run the polls from the PTI ticket, while Saleem has joined the PML-N.
