The incident occurred when a bus was taking workers to the Dasu Dam Pakistan Dasu hydropower project in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, about 190 kilometers north of the capital, Islamabad, on Wednesday morning. The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said it was a “mechanical failure” while a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman called it an “attack”.
