The launch of the new iPhone 13 now seems just a few weeks away, and Apple’s plans for the next smartphones are coming into focus. Not officially, of course – Apple never comments on unreleased products. But the various leakers and vendors don’t have such reservations, and that’s why we have a surprisingly complete iPhone 13 picture.

From what we’ve heard so far, the iPhone 13 will feature a 120Hz LTPO display on both Pro models, improved battery life thanks to a more efficient 5G modem, and significant upgrades to key cameras. This includes a new portrait video mode.

As for the design of the iPhone 13, we’ve heard that the new iPhone’s notch will finally shrink on every model. (And yes, we’re expecting four models, just like the iPhone 12.) Some other rumors suggest that at least one version of the new iPhone might have a truly portless design (though that prediction looks shaky). We were finally able to see an always-on display that also adorns the iPhone.

A new report says the iPhone 13 Pro will get three major camera upgrades, including portrait video.
A whopping 44% of US iPhone owners say they want to buy an iPhone 13, which could signal strong demand, according to a new poll.
The iPhone 13 could take a big step forward in battery capacity, which could help fix the lackluster battery life on the iPhone 12.

iPhone 13 release date

Despite the coronavirus-related delays the iPhone 12 faced and its launch postponed to October 13, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims the iPhone 13 should return to a normal release schedule in 2021. And that means a start in September.

A year ago, Apple warned that the iPhone 12 wouldn’t launch in September. However, in announcing its June quarter results, Apple did not mention any potential delays, suggesting the iPhone 13 launch is on the right track. Apple has pointed out some delivery bottleneck issues, but that likely won’t affect the launch dates of its new phones.

If the iPhone 13 release date follows Apple’s pattern for earlier launches, we could see this device hit shelves on the fourth Friday of September 2021. That would be September 24th.

A report from analyst firm Wedbush agrees with this possibility, as it predicts the iPhone 13 will hit the market in the third week of September. Pre-orders could start this Friday and the new iPhones could go on sale the following Friday. However, it is not clear whether the iPhone launch event will take place in the third week of September or if the phones will go on sale then.

iPhone 13 price

How much the iPhone 13 will cost, we expect prices to match the iPhone 12 line-up – $ 699, $ 799, $ 999, and $ 1,099, respectively. Apple tends to keep its prices relatively close to the previous one for each new generation of iPhone.

A TrendForce report said that iPhone 13 prices should be “relatively on par” with current iPhone 13 models. Unfortunately, the company also says the iPhone 13 Pro models won’t have a 1TB storage option.

Various rumors suggest that the new iPhone will come in the same four sizes as the iPhone 12: a 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max. The new iPhones appeared in approval applications to the Eurasian Economic Commission; seven models were included in this submission, but they could include different configurations.

Although the iPhone 12 mini didn’t sell well, reports suggest that Apple will still be releasing an iPhone 13 mini (although not everyone believes an iPhone 13 mini is a good idea). Let’s say we’ll see four models in the fall, all of which will be part of the iPhone 13 family. A 5G-enabled iPhone SE is not expected until next year, and a foldable iPhone Flip is likely to be available in two years.
